Electric Cars More Likely to Fail MOT on Worn Tyres

by | 25 Aug 2022 | News

A recent study shows that electric and hybrid vehicles are more likely to fail their MOT test on issues such as worn tyres, but overall are more likely to pass the MOT test first time.

Despite having less moving parts and less to go wrong than traditional petrol and diesel engined vehicles, the instant torque of electric power and the extra weight of a big battery both contribute to increased tyre wear.

However, motoring experts have commented that increased tyre wear is more likely attributed to driving style and state of the roads.

If you have an electric or hybrid vehicle, we can carry out an MOT test at our test centre in Baglan, Port Talbot. Just call us to book an appointment.
